When planning a trip, do not forget to prepare all the necessary documents, especially if you are sending your minor child on a trip abroad. Consent may be needed for a child to travel with one of the parents or on its own. To do this, you are required:

  • To certify with a notary the consent or power of attorney for the child to travel abroad with an accompanying person or on its own;

  • To legalize the document (depending on the country of destination, an apostille or consular legalization is required);

  • To translate the legalized document into the required language;

  • To notarize the translation with a sworn notary.

 

To register the consent, power of attorney with a notary

If there is a need to issue a notarial document, you can contact our translation agency, we will make an appointment with the notary on the nearest date. To make an appointment with a notary you should specify:

1.    Name and surname of the signatory of the power of attorney, their consent.

2.    Latvian ID, if you have one.

3.    Contact phone number.

 

Legalization of the obtained consent or power of attorney

After receipt of the notarized document, you should submit it to our office for further legalization, translation and notarization of the translation by a sworn notary.

 

Affixing an apostille to a notarial document takes 1 day and costs EUR 35, inclusive of all taxes.

 

Translation and notarization of the translation takes  one more working day.
